Brave Enough To Be Who You Are

“There is only one journey. Going inside yourself.” ~Rainer Maria Rilke

“We need to have the courage to claim our spiritual identity in the midst of a world afraid of light. We don’t need to flaunt our spirituality, argue about it, or attack anyone who does not see or agree with it; we just need to live it. The path of mastery does not require us to convince anyone else of anything; it simply asks us to remember who we are and be it.”

~Alan Cohen, Dare To Be Yourself

Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting,

The soul that rises with us, our life’s star,

Hath had elsewhere its setting,

And cometh from afar;

Not in entire forgetfulness,

And not in utter nakedness,

But trailing clouds of glory do we come

From God, who is our home.

~William Wordsworth

So easy it is. to get caught up and get lost on the path of convincing…when in reality, I believe the best way to convince anyone of anything, without trying, is to stay true to who you are and lead by example. No words necessary…just BE. Thanks for this Gina

  2. So hard to feel that I, just the way I am, could possibly be enough. Thanks for a wonderful post!

  3. Integrity. Being true to who you are. Being the same on the outside as you are on the inside. I love Alan Cohen and good old dad Leonard! ❤
    Blessings to you Gina!

    1. Oh yes Diana! SO well put. It really is about that essential character: Integrity. To live by the phrase ‘what you see is what you get’. Think love. Live love. Be love. 🙂 Big hugs to you my friend! xo Gina

  4. Yes, if we can dream so big with eyes closed wonder what we will achieve with eyes and heart opened. The path to oneself is dark but every cave opens at light. We are stronger than we think. All we need is satisfaction.

  5. How beautiful! I love the poem! 🙂 You always choose so wonderful quotes and poems! 🙂 For me, being myself means to live from my soul, and for me following my heart is something I just need to do, otherwise I can’t be happy. I mean, following my heart probably means following my innermost feelings I guess. And I believe those feelings are my soul guiding me. I have always lived like this. Many times people tell me that I am not “doing the right thing”, but I think they mean I am not doing the right thing according to others. So that is okay, I need to live by my own beliefs, so I can live a life in authenticity and peace. 🙂 I love your posts Gina! They are like little postcards sent out to change the world into a better place! 🙂

    1. Such lovely truth you share Line! And it’s no wonder I feel you are one of the most authentically honest people ever. Thank heavens you listen to your intuition and let those others who share their opinions to keep their opinions. You are following an important path of love and light, and I am so deeply thankful for you! Thank you for sharing your beacon in the world. You make a beautiful difference. xo Big hugs, Gina
