Passionate Calling

True imagination is not fanciful daydreaming; it is fire from heaven.

~ Ernest Holmes

passionate callingΒ
“You simply cannot give to the world all that you have to give if you do not remain true to your own ‘selfish’ desires. You have a unique set of precious values that can only be fulfilled by pursuing what drives you the most: your passions and dreams.
Could Thomas Edison have tended to the downtrodden as Mother Teresa did?
Could Albert Einstein have preached salvation as Martin Luther King Jr. did?
Could Abraham Lincoln have built cars like Henry Ford? Always, the masses benefit from the individuals who insist on marching to the beat of their own drummer.” ~ Mike Dooley

  1. Thank you. i used to be a real activist but having found my calling creating digital art, I know I can work for peace in a different way now. Your words reminded me of this.

    1. How wonderful, that you discovered a true calling in sharing your gorgeous artwork. I fully believe you are working for peace in a way that honors your soul. Thank you for commenting! Blessings, Gina

  2. Thanks, Gina!! This reminds me of what matters. I have had a hard time following my calling because I have a tendency to jump in many different directions all at once. Best wishes to you, MaryGwyn

  3. so true! and funny too because I was reading some stuff this morning regarding my passion, or one of my passions. it’s what I intend to do once I retire. but the plan is to get it going before then so I’m all set. do it on the side and hopefully make extra money so that I can retire early? that’s my goal anyway!

    1. That’s a fantastic goal Toby! Work on one of your passions now, on the side, and build up to doing it more and more until you’re doing it fully once you retire. And awesome plan. Thanks, as always, for your great comment my friend. πŸ™‚ Gina

  4. Oh, I so agree with this!! We have been giver our gifts for a reason, so we should never neglect them or refuse to let them grow and develop. I believe our dreams is God whispering to us in our hearts. Our desire to fulfill these dreams is God urging us on, so that we can reach our full potential and fulfill our life purpose. πŸ™‚ Thank you for an inspiring post! πŸ™‚

Thank you my friend for your visit! πŸ˜€

  5. Beautiful and inspiring! I’d love to share a beautiful quote by Judy Garland ~ β€œAlways be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else”!
