“If you have a great ambition, take as big a step as possible in the direction of fulfilling it. The step may only be a tiny one, but trust that is may be the largest one possible for now.” ~Mildred McAfee

professionsforpeace.com“Why wait for inspiration to come? Inspiration may or may not arrive. If it does, it will only come periodically on the winds of chance. But if we court inspiration by setting time aside, if we create an atmosphere of expectancy, inspiration will find us irresistible and will come often.”~Ann Mortifee, In Love With The Mystery

“You came to earth to express your unique gifts; to withhold them because you are afraid other people may not like them is to deny your own purpose here. Do not allow opinions to rule your life. They change with the capriciousness of the wind. Let your destiny be rooted in your heart’s desire, and your actions will bear fruit to nourish generations to come.” ~Alan Cohen, Dare to be Yourself

Wonderfully inspirational quotes!! I find that if I just sit down and put my pen to the paper, inspiration always comes, even if it was not there before I picked up that pen πŸ™‚

This is so true. Sometimes we must fight with ourselves to find some little patch of space for creativity or inspiration. There are days so laden with work,( i.e. what one does for a living), that it’s hard to find even that much, but like a chicken scratching in the dirt, scratch we must. And I’ve learned on these days, creativity might not be anything grand, but doing a draft for a post, revisiting a manuscript, considering a new recipe … anything. I love the idea of courting inspiration. And so I begin again. πŸ™‚
    Thanks, Gina – great quotes.

A delightful comment as always Jeanne! I love the reference to chickens busy scratching. Like bees. Gotta keep at it; digging, seeking, working. Courting inspiration. That’s a great expression isn’t it? It’s been on my mind lately as I realize, like with everything, that energy grows where my attention goes. I’ve seen tremendous value in carving out space for inspiration to blossom. And then taking action with it. Thanks for your wonderful visit my friend. Hugs, Gina πŸ™‚

I have always known a slightly different version of that – “Where attention goes, energy flows” and we have to remember that that’s for the great stuff and the negativity! I have it taped to my work lamp at my upstairs drawing desk so I remember where I want to go. πŸ™‚ Jeanne
