Neither need you do anything but be yourself.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.
~ George Eliot

It is the highest form of self-respect to admit our errors and mistakes and make amends for them. To make a mistake is only an error in judgment, but to adhere to it when it is discovered shows infirmity of character.

and don’t compare or compete,

I love it! Especially the George Eliot quote. A nice collection to remind us what, really, every great mind has considered one of, if not the, most important goal of human life.

I agree completely! How wonderful to meet up with you here. Your blog is incredibly inspiring and I can hardly wait to return and read further. I am delighted that you enjoyed this post, and George Eliot brings such an amazing reminder for us all. Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comment!

Great piece. “never complain, never explain” was also attributed to Henry Ford II, in fact it was the title of his biography.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much! Yet another thing I love about blogging is how instantly connected we all are (well once we return from our busy lives and sign back on). Your comment here has helped me make my post more accurate. A quick research showed that many have said it, and very likely he was the first. I have updated my post accordingly, with great gratitude to you! Hugs, Gina

Wonderful post, Gina. I’m reminded of a line from the Desiderata: “If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.” So just be yourself! Love it (and you). Cathy
