About

light beams thru treesHello and welcome! My name is Gina and this is my inspirational blog. I celebrate seeing God everywhere in nature and I cherish Native American wisdom. I am a modern Christian and along with First Nations’ teachings I also study Buddhism, Taoism, Judaism, Hinduism and more. I’m a spiritual philosopher celebrating that precious thread woven through all the world’s religions that encourages us to Love. Humanity is like a spectacular tapestry of colors and creativity. We are all cut from the same cloth, and we all smile in the same language.

feeds your soul satisfiedIn deepening my experience of life I’ve noticed that what may appear to be a simple question can also be the most difficult to answer. Who Am I?
What do I love? How may I serve? These are questions I mull over, contemplate, and grow with. As I deeply examine what I most love, what makes my heart sing, the other answers become clear. In moving towards what makes my heart shine with happiness, I uncover who I really am and how I may be of service.

Clarity regarding why I blog, what I want to write about, and why I have two blogs has been shining through me and I am feeling renewed!  Summarizing my two blogs in one sentence: Professions for PEACE is like my ministry and P.E.A.C.E. is my daily life.

Professions for PEACE is where I share my most enlightened observations and learning experiences. I’m using the definition of the word professions as in declarations, testimonies and assertions. These professions are my celebrations of all that inspires me and helps us move towards peace. The posts here are akin to my Sunday sermons, so to speak, no matter what day of the week they arrive. This is a faith-based place where I share what sparks my spirit, lifts my heart, and speaks to me of God. Between my longer writings you’ll find posts with inspirational quotes, posters, and poetry.

People Excited About Co~Existence is about the rest of the week as I seek the miraculous in the mundane. The name is long but I hope you’ll find each visit worth it: peopleexcitedaboutcoexistence.com without spaces or dashes. Co-existence begins within, in the home and in the heart. I share about easy organizing, simple recipes, gardening tips, living with pets, and other familial topics. It is in the minutiae of daily life we find the shining gem of inner peace. Let’s create a calmer, sweeter existence and help bring peace to the world through our joyful lives and peaceful hearts.

Gina luvs her hubbyGina luvs her boysPointing out the positive sets my heart singing. Moments that make us feel happy deserve to be noticed. Let’s pause, observe, and feel grateful for whatever is happening right in the moment when our hearts feel bright. Whether it’s making people laugh or dogs’ tails wag. Serving an incredible meal, nourishing strong relationships, fixing a vehicle, running a marathon, growing plants and being in our gardens, or writing an inspirational article. Whatever it is that makes our hearts sing, let’s do more of that. I share about the things that make my heart sing. May you burst into song along with me. Blessings and Namaste. Gina

  6. Dear Gina, good morning and greetings of peace from the other side of the planet! a first note to say that your blog is an Alice in wonderland space! So many interesting to look at and discover! I am on wordpress since a month and feel like a kid in front of a Christmas tree packed with treasures and mysteries ti unwrap! The second note to say I have been very touched by your visit and comment on Sharon’s blog. Many thanks for being and live like it’s even on earth – it will be one day, maybe sooner than we think. f

    • Hello dear heart ~ how delighted I am to hear from you! Your blog inspires and uplifts the hearts of so many. Lovely Sharon has a way of finding lovely like-minded, kindred spirits. I love how you wrote here, like a ‘kid in front of a Christmas Tree’. I know exactly what you mean! It’s amazing to discover so many similar souls! Be prepared: that feeling doesn’t go away! At least not for me (wise old blogger of a few months that I am! LOL). Thank you very much for your kind words about my humble blog. I do hope to inspire, to lift a heart if I can. And your blog certainly does that for me. Blessings, Gina

      • Dear Gina, 12 days already and I didn’t say hello or thanks for your wonderful words! It has been – and still is and will be – a bit busy but I wanted to stop by to say how much your presence matters and definitely lifts the heart! I feel it everytime I see you gravatar appear and when the words engraved in memory and associate to it start vibrating. and you are right, still overwhelmed by the diversity and quality of the WP community! Pure love to you and yours, f

        • I can definitely relate to the BUSY! So never worry about time passed, dear man. I am always delighted to hear back from you, no matter how much time has passed. I really enjoy your blog. Such wisdom shared! Thank you.
This wonderful world of blogging finds me happily reading and enjoying the words and wisdom of a vast array of writers, poets and photographers. I hardly seem able to carve out enough time for my own writing! I am working with balance now, to write before signing on, or after logging off. I get happily distracted with so many wonderful things to read! Indeed the ‘kid in the candy store’ or Christmas morning feeling.
Your kind words here warm my heart. I thank you so much. We are a growing family and, my brother, I am so happy we are both in it. Much love to you and yours as well. Gina

  7. I resonate deeply with the idea of Professions for PEACE. I also have another hope with this idea. That people in business, in positions of responsibility, as heads of families – honour their spirituality and personal beliefs in their outward living. We need more heart, love and light in the world. Blessings to you, sister Lightworker xoxo

    • Bless your heart dear one, my kindred spirit. Yes I agree, and let’s here it for sharing more love and light in the world, with our actions and choices, by being a living example, and by sharing our highest aspirations in this communicative world of blogging. Namaste.
Love and Light to you, Gina

  12. Hi Dear Gina, Appreciate your recent like of the post “What Does it Mean to Live a Spiritual Life”…I thought it brilliant when I read it which is why I reblogged it. And a special thanks for adding me to your blogroll! I am honored :-)
with much love light and JOY

    • Thank you so much ‘Madame Croquette’ ~ I am delighted you came to visit this blog here. I found you from your like on my Non-GMO Projects post on my other site. Your lovely site makes me hungry for great homemade food! Thank you again for your sweet comment here dear one!

  13. Gina, our life is based on thought which is measurable. It measures God, it measures its relationship with another through the image. It tries to improve itself according to what it thinks it should be. So unnecessarily we live in a world of measurement and with that world we want to enter into a world in which there is no measurement at all. Meditation is the seeing of ‘what is’ and going beyond it, seeing the measure and going beyond the measure…You agree Gina…

    • What a thought-provoking comment here ~ thank you. Yes you are so right that meditation is indeed the seeing of what is and going beyond, and “seeing the measure and going beyond the measure”. Thank you again for your comment.

  14. Thank you for stopping by – I look forward to know you through your writings and thoughts. A whole new world opened to me through blogging and it is a fun and adventurous trip!

Your thoughts on peace reminds me of the song we often sing at church – …
“Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be.
    With God as our father
    Brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother
    In perfect harmony….”
I just found out that Vince Gill wrote it…it is one of my favorite hymns we sing.
    Blessings ~ Patty

    • I LOVE that song, and I was humming along as I was reading :) Definitely a favorite song to sing in church.
I am delighted we have met each other and I look forward to many visits and shares back and forth at both our blogs (well and my other one too ;) )
Blessings to you as well, Gina

    • Subhan! Bless your kind heart, you have made my day :) I do notice who follows, and who doesn’t follow me back, and was surprised to not find you in the list of blogs following here, since I thought that was how we met long ago. I worried I’d posted something that had made you unfollow, but I stayed with your blog because it is so special. I am delighted that you are back my friend!
This is a good example of why we must never ‘assume’ because things are not always as we may think ;)

  24. “please no more awards. Your comments and likes are always welcomed and appreciated!” my feelings exactly

    • Thanks for the cheer of support! I feel there are many bloggers such as you and I who enjoy blogging but don’t wish to participate in the ‘homework’ of special tasks that awards entail. I’m happy for those who enjoy it, and I happily refrain :) Cheers!

  25. Hi! Reading your blog, I feel like I’ve found a kindred spirit :). I also create affirmations for peace & create illustrations around them in an effort to spread peace & invite peace within! I look forward to reading more of your blog & connecting :). Wishing you love, laughter & Oogobs of peace, ~Kyia, At Peace Arts

    • Hello Kyla! It’s wonderful to ‘meet’ you :D I’ve really enjoyed reading and soaking up all the love and wisdom over on your delightful site and have to say we’re definitely kindred spirits. Thanks so much for this delightful comment and your introduction helped me find your wonderful blog. I’m so glad I did. Looking forward to many more connections with you! With Love and Light, Gina xo

  26. Wow! There is so much I like about what I just read above. What struck me the most is your statement that we all smile in the same language. I hope you do not mind if I start using that statement in my own life. I am also going to post if on Facebook with a link to your blog because I think it is such a powerful message. I agree that peacefulness starts from within. I like the fact that you study so many of the world’s religions. I believe that they all have important messages to share. Thank you for everything you are doing with your blog!

    • Hello Steve, and thank you! I deeply appreciate this kind and thoughtful comment. Yes, we all smile in the same language and that truth is a part of every breath I take. I celebrate that you might start using that statement yourself, and encourage us ALL to do the same! It’s a beautiful fact of life, that we are all the same, all breathing the same oxygen, all smiling our joy in the same way – no matter what our native tongue might be. It is wonderful to ‘meet you’ here, and I apologize for my delay in responding – only caused by a trip away from computers and et cetera. Blessings, Gina

    • Hello Michele!
I’ve been away, and am delighted to return to find this comment and visit your wonderful blog. It is lovely to meet you!
And I agree completely: May world peace prevail.
      Love and blessings, Gina

  31. Hello there. Wow, you can certainly do a lot of things. In Brazil we call people that are multi-talented “Bom Bril”. Bom brill is a name brand for cleaning products and part of the marketing/advertising is to say that Bom Bril has 101 uses.
Looking forward to checking out a bit more of your blog.
    Blessings =)
Staci (A God Coloured Girl in a Grey World)

    • Thank you Staci! That’s a great expression used in Brazil, sort of like calling someone a Jack-of-all-trades in a way, only Bom Bril sounds way more cool. ;) And I’m not really so multi-talented and am contemplating updating that opening paragraph, but it is fun. It’s just that I feel a bit different now, having been nearly 2 years since I wrote this. Thanks kindly for sharing your sweet comment. All the best!
      Blessings,
      Gina

      • Hahahahaha. It’s so funny because, after living in Brazil for 11 1/2 years, sometimes I forget common expressions, and even the right way to say things in English. And then when I’m in Canada, sometimes I end up speaking to someone in English, and without even realizing it, I throw in a Portuguese preposition out of nowhere, only realizing it after saying it. Yes, it would be like a ‘jack-of-all-trades’
        Great to ‘virtually’ meet you.
        =)

    • That is a very special expression in my family – May the force be with you. There is great spiritual wisdom in the Star Wars movies. Thank you my friend for coming here and commenting on my About page.
      Cheers, Gina

  32. “Whatever it is that makes our hearts happy and harms no one, let’s do more of that.” Reading your blogs is one of the things that makes my heart happy. I’ve learned that when my heart is happy, no one is ever harmed. It is a condition of happiness for me, and I believe, most likely nearly everyone else.
Thank you all you do that brightens my world, Gina.
    Russ

    • Bless your heart for sharing this kind comment here on my newly updated page! Yes I do suppose in a way doing what makes our heart happy should harm no one else, but I thought I’d include that as an affirmation. May what we share bless ourselves and every other living being around us! Thank you for the gift of your friendship Russ.
      Hugs, Gina

  33. Sister Gina, so happy you found my site, thanks for the likes & follow, so that I could find you to do the same. LOVE your blog, inspiring and soul-beautiful! In Oneness, namaste!

    • Hi Eliza! Calling me Sister Gina brings me a big smile for that’s how I felt as soon as I began visiting your lovely site. Like we are indeed kindred spirits! Thank you kindly for coming to visit and sharing this delightfully encouraging comment. Namaste.

  34. I am happy, happy, happy to sing with you in unison! I am grateful, grateful, grateful for this possibility to touch your beautiful world! Thank you for You, and I pray with you!

    • Hello sweet Glorialana! Thank you so kindly for your delightful message and this nice cheer of support. We shall join hands in love and sing in unison to add brightness to our beautiful world. Hugs of gratitude, Gina xo
